Recommending options and courses of action by implementing physician directives.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Examines patient, takes patient history, performs comprehensive physical examinations, and makes an assessment consistent with physical findings.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Performs clinical procedures that have been approved by a supervising physician.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Orders and interprets lab results.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Determines abnormal conditions by ordering diagnostic tests.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Orders procedures, consultations, physical therapy.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Writes prescriptions as directed by physicians.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Provides patient care documentation.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Provides educational information to patients and family.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Assesses and monitors patient response to treatment.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Establishes plan of care for patients by evaluating all pertinent information.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Responds and assists with emergency situations in office.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Provides direction to staff in order to ensure patient care needs are met.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Should have excellent customer service and patient relation skills.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Strong interpersonal, oral communication and analytical skills.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Maintains communication with Director of Clinical Operations regarding patient care, nursing staff and scheduling.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Perform various duties as needed to successfully full the function of the position.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>QUALIFICATIONS:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Graduation from an accredited school for Physician Assistant program or Nurse Practitioner program.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Current licensure as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner in the State of Virginia.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>CPR-BCLS certification<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Must be registered with the United States Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) for Schedule II-V Controlled Substances if prescribing controlled substances to outpatients.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ensures that all continuing education requirements are up to date.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>DESCRIPTION: Nurse practitioner or Physician Assistant to work Family Practice and the Acute Care Clinic.
